Anna Wilson-Patterson’s paintings explore her fascination with the haunting coastal landscape of the South East of England. She lives on the clifftop at Fairlight Cove and walks the nearby beaches from Hastings to Dungeness, inspired by the open vistas of shingle, sand and sea.

“My gestures of adding, dragging and removing paint imitate the natural world, the tidal ebb and flow, the movement of clouds and wind. I’m drawn to desolate, peaceful places.”
