Anna Wilson-Patterson’s paintings explore her fascination with the haunting coastal landscape of the South East of England. She lives on the clifftop at Fairlight Cove and walks the nearby beaches from Hastings to Dungeness, inspired by the open vistas of shingle, sand and sea. Seeking out huts, hounds and wild flowers.

“My gestures of adding, dragging and removing paint imitate the natural world, the tidal ebb and flow, the movement of clouds and wind. I’m drawn to desolate, peaceful places.”

Anna has a BA Honours History of Design Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Art and Design Education. She exhibits oil paintings at Rye Art Gallery and runs a monthly adult Art School based at Rye Harbour Sailing Club. Her paintings have featured in Sussex Life Magazine, Coast Magazine and The Book of The Dog.
